IT Network and System Specialist


Location: Deerfield Beach, Fl

We are currently seeking an experienced IT Network and System Specialist to join our team and play a key role in maintaining and enhancing our IT infrastructure.


Position Overview: As an IT Network and System Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing our network and computing systems. Your role will involve ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of our data communications network while also managing and maintaining computer systems and IT hardware assets. You will tackle complex technical issues and collaborate with various departments to support their IT needs.


Scope of Responsibilities:


Network Duties:

  • Support and administer third-party applications.
  • Set up user accounts, permissions, and passwords.
  • Resolve problems reported by end-users.
  • Manage network policies and procedures.
  • Specify system requirements and design solutions.
  • Co-manage research and make recommendations on server system administration.


Computer Systems Duties:

  • Install and configure software and computer systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with software or hardware.
  • Provide step-by-step assistance to colleagues or clients to resolve technical problems.
  • Maintain procedures and reports that offer technical support to the entire organization.
  • Analyze records and logs to identify trends and potential issues.
  • Support the implementation of new solutions or applications.
  • Establish accounts for new users and assist with password or login issues.
  • Test, evaluate, and make decisions regarding new technology for the business.
  • Participate in business-wide meetings to provide insights into technical requirements.


General:

  • Stay informed about developments in information technology for strategic planning.
  • Manage the IT Disaster Recovery Plan, coordinating with third-party vendors and maintaining contact information.
  • Ensure cyber-security plans and tools (CMMC, NIST, DFARS, ITAR) are implemented to protect the company.
  • Ensure compliance with CMMC, Sarbanes-Oxley, ITAR, and other regulations, minimizing system downtime and external risks.


Qualifications:

  • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology, or a related field; or equivalent experience. Minimum of 5-7 years of related experience and/or training.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in PC hardware, printers, scanners, computer peripherals, and mobile devices (iOS, Android). Active Directory and Office 365 administration experience. Experience in CMMC, NIST, DFARS, and ITAR-regulated environments is a plus.
  • Other Requirements: Related experience in troubleshooting and providing Help Desk support. Eligibility for any required U.S. Government authorizations.


Physical Demands/Work Environment:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds in compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Ability to work at telephone answering equipment, design equipment, and at a PC for extended periods.
  • The role involves sitting, standing, bending, reaching, and moving about the facility. The work environment includes both office and manufacturing settings. Adaptability to both traditional business and manufacturing environments is required.
