Systems Administrator/Apple/Mac/iPads

As a Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of our IT systems, with a special emphasis on managing iPads and integrating them into our existing infrastructure. You will ensure that our Apple and Windows environments operate smoothly, securely, and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • iPad Management:
    • Configure, deploy, and maintain iPads, including setting up device management solutions (e.g., Apple Business Manager, Mobile Device Management).
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to iPads, including connectivity, application problems, and user configurations.
    • Develop and implement policies for iPad usage, security, and app management.
  • Apple Environment Administration:
    • Administer and support macOS systems, including software installation, updates, and user account management.
    • Manage Apple hardware, including Macs, iPads, and other Apple devices, ensuring they integrate seamlessly with our network and services.
    • Provide technical support and training for users on macOS and iOS platforms.
  • Windows Environment Administration:
    • Oversee the management of Windows servers and workstations, including configuration, patch management, and performance monitoring.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Windows operating systems and applications.
    • Ensure integration and compatibility between Windows and Apple devices within the network.
  • System Maintenance and Support:
    • Monitor and maintain system performance, reliability, and security across both Apple and Windows environments.
    • Implement and manage backups, disaster recovery plans, and data protection strategies.
    • Collaborate with IT teams to plan and execute system upgrades, migrations, and other infrastructure changes.
  • User Support and Training:
    • Provide technical support to end-users, including diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues.
    • Develop and deliver training materials and sessions to enhance user proficiency with Apple and Windows systems.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
    • Generate regular reports on system performance, incidents, and resolution metrics.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience in managing iPads, macOS, and Windows environments.
  • Strong familiarity with Apple Business Manager and Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions.
  • Experience with Windows Server administration and Windows operating systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Apple Certified Support Professional, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Fundamentals) are a plus.
