Base pay range
Responsibilities:
System Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and other IT infrastructure components. Ensure systems are updated, patched, and running efficiently.
Network Administration: Manage and troubleshoot network components, including switches, routers, firewalls, and VPNs. Ensure network security and optimize network performance.
User Support: Provide technical support to end-users, resolving hardware and software issues. Assist with the setup and maintenance of user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
Backup and Recovery: Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions. Ensure data integrity and availability through regular backups and testing of recovery procedures.
Security Management: Monitor and enforce IT security policies and procedures. Protect systems and networks from unauthorized access, cyber threats, and vulnerabilities.
Performance Monitoring: Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to improve efficiency. Use monitoring tools to ensure uptime and reliability of all systems.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Ensure documentation is accessible to relevant team members.
Hardware and Software Management: Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software. Ensure compliance with licensing agreements and organizational policies.
Vendor Management: Coordinate with vendors for hardware, software, and service procurement. Manage vendor relationships and ensure timely resolution of issues.
Project Support: Participate in IT projects, providing technical expertise and support for system upgrades, migrations, and other initiatives. Collaborate with other IT team members to achieve project goals.
Continuous Improvement: Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends. Continuously seek opportunities to enhance IT infrastructure and improve processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in systems administration or a related role.
Proficiency in Windows and/or Linux server administration.
Experience with network administration and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
Strong understanding of IT security principles and best practices.
Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator) are a plus.
