Portnox is a fast-growing, VC-backed cybersecurity company selling a must-have product. We are seeking a highly-skilled individual for a full-time Mid-Level System Administrator role. As a System Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and managing our software, hardware, and networks. Additionally, you will oversee security training for our staff and manage company laptops and break/fix issues. The goal is to ensure our technology infrastructure runs smoothly, securely, and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
System Administration:
Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software, and system management tools.
Manage the procurement, setup, and maintenance of company laptops and related hardware.
Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure.
Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks.
Participate in the design of information and operational support systems.
Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
Manage and conduct security training for staff to ensure compliance and awareness.
Handle break/fix issues and provide timely support for any IT-related problems.
Investigate security incidents and resolve issues as provided by Microsoft Defender for Cloud/Endpoints.
Skills, Knowledge, And Expertise
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a System Administrator or in a similar role.
Experience with Active Directory, Mobile Device Management (MDM), and Single Sign-On (SSO).
Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and protocols.
Experience with scripting and automation tools.
Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms.
Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude.
Excellent communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
BSc/Ba in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline; professional IT certifications are a plus.
