Description

As a Systems Administrator at Robert Half, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of our client's IT systems. You will play a critical role in managing servers, networks, and software applications to support our business operations. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a dedication to providing exceptional IT support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer Windows and/or Linux-based servers, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Administer network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN connections.
  • Perform regular security assessments, updates, and patches to protect against vulnerabilities and cyber threats.
  • Maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
  • Install, configure, and manage software applications, ensuring compatibility and user access.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new technologies, projects, and system enhancements.
  • Provide technical support to end-users, addressing hardware, software, and network-related inquiries.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including configurations, procedures, and policies.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control in compliance with security protocols.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements to the IT infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • X+ years of experience in systems administration or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in managing Windows Server and/or Linux-based systems.
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols, configurations, and security measures.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation tasks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Relevant certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, RHCSA, or equivalent are a plus.
  • Detail-oriented approach to documentation, system configurations, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
