Description
As a Systems Administrator at Robert Half, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of our client's IT systems. You will play a critical role in managing servers, networks, and software applications to support our business operations. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a dedication to providing exceptional IT support.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and administer Windows and/or Linux-based servers, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability and performance.
Administer network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN connections.
Perform regular security assessments, updates, and patches to protect against vulnerabilities and cyber threats.
Maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
Install, configure, and manage software applications, ensuring compatibility and user access.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new technologies, projects, and system enhancements.
Provide technical support to end-users, addressing hardware, software, and network-related inquiries.
Create and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including configurations, procedures, and policies.
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control in compliance with security protocols.
Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements to the IT infrastructure.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
X+ years of experience in systems administration or a similar role.
Proficiency in managing Windows Server and/or Linux-based systems.
Strong knowledge of network protocols, configurations, and security measures.
Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is advantageous.
Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation tasks.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Relevant certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, RHCSA, or equivalent are a plus.
Detail-oriented approach to documentation, system configurations, and troubleshooting.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
