Description

Fisk University is seeking a Systems Administrator to join our IT team and support our growing organization. This role is ideal for someone who is an independent self- starter. Responsibilities

  • Remote/ on campus client interaction through Microsoft Teams.
  • Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes.
  • Performance monitoring and remediation for server and computer systems.
  • Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure Support and troubleshoot security and firewall-based solutions.
  • Support and troubleshoot cloud-based solutions:
  • Microsoft Azure administration
  • Configuring Hyper-V hosts/ guests
  • Managing Microsoft Intune
  • Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
  • Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and performance
  • Possible Team Lead responsibilities for a small team

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems highly desirable, but will consider certification and experience in lieu of secondary degree.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of network experience and 3–5 years of Windows Server 2012-2022 experience.
  • Windows Server 2012-2022 virtual environment, Specifically MS Hyper-V. Group Policy, Active Directory and supporting technologies (DNS, DHCP, DFS).
  • Scripting (Powershell, Python) and automation tools knowledge.
  • Work within the ticketing system to monitor, track, and resolve client issues.
  • Storage and backup experience.
  • Support clients in Azure and on-premises environments, completing task loads and responding to customer requests in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
  • Basic wired networking troubleshooting experience. Advanced networking knowledge desired but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate technical knowledge to an individual's capacity for understanding.
