Primary Responsibilities

  • Implement and configure the infrastructure for the Performance Portal pilot.
  • Design, develop, and implement the Performance Portal using agile methodology, covering all standard SDLC phases, including:
    • Validating performance metric requirements.
    • Creating Epics, User Stories, and Tasks.
    • Automating data acquisition from diverse sources.
    • Developing complex SQL scripts.
    • Performing integration, load, and stress testing.
    • Deploying and publishing both internally and externally.
  • Provide operations support and enhance the Performance Portal pilot.
Key Duties

  • Act as a technical leader, guiding an agile development team through the project lifecycle.
  • Acquire data from various sources and develop complex SQL scripts for transforming data into a dimensional model.
  • Use Informatica Power Center/IICS for data automation and transformation.
  • Collaborate with the Data Engineering Team on optimal data design and implementation.
  • Verify and validate SQL scripts, Informatica automation, and database views.
  • Develop automated methods for verification and validation.
  • Participate in all sprint ceremonies and work closely with Architects and the Data Engineering Team.
  • Create mockups and validate with customers.
  • Address technical issues and assist with the implementation and configuration of developmental tools.
  • Produce and maintain technical specifications, diagrams, and other documentation.
  • Engage in requirements and design sessions and interpret business requirements to propose necessary enhancements.

Skills And Knowledge

  • Experience with agile methodologies and SDLC phases.
  • Proficiency in SQL and data transformation.
  • Familiarity with Informatica Power Center/IICS and Oracle databases.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work closely with architects, data engineers, and other team members.
  • Ability to develop automated validation and verification processes.
  • Competence in producing technical documentation and participating in design sessions.

This position focuses on implementing and enhancing the Performance Portal using agile practices and involves significant data management and technical leadership responsibilities.

  • 20yrs - Required - Experience designing and developing complex Oracle SQL scripts that are fast and efficient
  • 20yrs - Required - Experience developing mappings and workflows to automate ETL processes using Informatica Power Center and/or IICS.
  • 10yrs - Required - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience as a system analyst for a data analytics, performance management system, or data warehousing project.
  • 10yrs - Required - Technical writing and diagraming skills, including proficiency with modeling and mapping tools (e.g., Visio, Erwin), and the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and MS Project.
  • 10yrs - Required - Experience working with Sybase
  • 8yrs - Required - Experience as an Informatica administrator responsible for PowerCenter and IICS/IDMC
  • 8yrs - Required - Experience with JIRA software
  • 8yrs - Required - Experience in interfacing with ETL tools such as Informatica PowerCenter, IICS, ADF and supporting ETL jobs.
  • 8yrs - Required - Experience making technical presentations and working closely with customers
  • 8yrs - Required - Experience acquiring and integrating data from multiple data sources/technologies using Informatica Power Center for use by a Tableau data visualization object. Data source techs should include Oracle, SQL Server, Excel, Access and Adobe PDF.
  • 8yrs - Required - Experience working with SQL Server
  • 19yrs - Preferred - Prior experience in the Healthcare Industry
  • 19yrs - Preferred - Prior experience with an HHS agency
  • 10yrs - Preferred - Proven ability to write well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices
  • 10yrs - Preferred - Understanding of security principles and how they apply to healthcare data
  • 10yrs - Preferred - Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • 10yrs - Preferred - Effectively manage multiple responsibilities, prioritize conflicting assignments, and switch quickly between assignments, as required.
  • 5yrs - Preferred - Experience working with Snowflake
  • 4yrs - Preferred - Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business or equivalent experience.
  • 3yrs - Preferred - Prior experience working in Azure and Azure Data Factory (ADF)

Work hours and location:

  • Services shall be provided during normal business hours unless otherwise coordinated through the Agency. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m., excluding Texas state holidays when the agency is closed.
  • The primary work location will be 701 W 51st St, Austin, Texas 78751.
  • Position will be 4 days remote with 1 day (Tuesdays) required to be onsite at the location listed above.
  • Program will allow candidates who are within the state (Any location within the State of Texas). Candidates must already reside in Texas.
