The ideal candidate possesses prior experience supporting military mission management systems as well as a Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent years of experience, in Engineering or other technical fields such as Computer Science, Computer Hardware, Mathematics, or Physics. This work requires a DOD Secret clearance. Candidates should possess an active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Job Title: Systems Engineer
Work Schedule: Standard business hours Monday thru Friday
Job Classification: Exempt
Primary Location: Onsite in Patuxent River, MD with occasional travel as needed
Salary Range: $70,000 to $150,000+ depending on experience
The Ideal Candidate Possesses:
- Experience building and troubleshooting complex computer systems using Linux
- Experience with both hardware and software integrations that include sensors, networking, and cybersecurity
- Outstanding troubleshooting and reverse engineering skills for Linux systems
- An understanding of both DoD and DCSA cybersecurity practices
- Familiarity with DoD sensor systems including EOIR, Radar, SIGINT, and others
- Familiarity with deploying to DoD cloud platforms including IL5 environments and higher
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- Supporting testing on aircraft and inside government labs to identify problems and provide fixes for the software development team
- Performing Independent investigation to reproduce problems reported in fielded systems
- Participating in design reviews and providing input on requirements
- Working directly with government personnel and other partners to provide actionable solutions
- Working with local and remote teams in various government laboratories and facilities to troubleshoot, investigate and isolate complex problems
- Supporting the software test team with technical support
- Assisting in preparing software documentation
- Investigation to provide engineering solutions to cyber security requirements
- Functional Linux Troubleshooting Experience
- Knowledge of software development tools and techniques
- Familiarity with software configuration management and version control systems
- Strong software troubleshooting and evaluation skills
- Knowledge of DoD mission systems, sensors, communications and platforms
- Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering or other technical field
- US Citizenship with the ability to get a DOD Secret Clearance (required)
- Previous Minotaur experience (strongly desired)
- Must be able to lift and carry ~40 Lbs
- Must be able to maneuver in confined spaces
- Must be able to access various government location, facilities, and vessels
- Must have reliable transportation to travel between office and government facilities
