Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Talent Acquisition & Development Manager to join our team. This role will oversee the recruitment process and manage comprehensive training programs for our workforce.
Talent Acquisition Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and hiring candidates.
- Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified candidates for current and future openings.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to understand job requirements and create compelling job descriptions.
- Utilize CI (Culture Index) to track and manage candidate information and recruitment metrics.
Development Manager Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage training programs focused on Safety and operational excellence for all levels of the organization.
- Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for The Barricade Company.
- Ensure training programs are compliant with industry regulations and company policies.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make continuous improvements.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify training needs and tailor programs accordingly.
- Track and report on training progress and outcomes to senior management.
General Responsibilities:
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in recruitment and talent development.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the organization.
- Build and maintain relationships with educational institutions and training providers.
- Promote diversity and inclusion in recruitment and training practices.
- Manage budgets related to talent acquisition and development activities.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in talent acquisition and development, preferably in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of recruitment techniques, training methodologies, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Current certification as an Occupational Health & Safety Professional (OHST) or willingness to obtain certification within 4 to 5 Years.
- Willing to obtain CSP / Certified Safety Professional designation within 5 years which requires the following prerequisites
- Will have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree*
- Will have four (4) years of safety experience where safety is at least 50%, preventative, professional level with breadth and depth of safety duties
- Will have a BCSP Qualified Credential:
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP)**
- Graduate Safety Practitioner (GSP)
- Transitional Safety Practitioner (TSP)**
- Certified Industrial Hygienist® (CIH®)
- Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH)**
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP)**
- Professional Certificate in Safety and Occupational Health, U.S. Army Combat Readiness Center (ACRC) (formerly “CP-12”) **
