General Function: Perform basic Computer Tape Operator duties per documented processes and procedures. These tasks include and are not limited to media operations mounting/demounting of media, performing system commands, assisting customers via phone and email, interacting with hardware included placing service request via phone/electronically and processing of inter-site media movement and evidence retention.
Basic Summary Of The Job
Work with data storage tapes. Remove tapes from a rack, place them in a case and scan with a barcode scanner, verify barcode counts, transfer cases to boxes for transport to data backup site. Do the same in reverse when backed up tapes return.
A Successful Candidate
No specific experience is required. Training will be provided.
Good communication skills. Must be able to communicate and understand verbal, written and electronic instructions in English.
Must be able and willing to learn new tasks/skills as required.
Strong attention to detail and process oriented. Must be able to follow instructions to the letter without deviation
