Allegient Defense is a leader in advanced technology research and solutions development, and we are growing quickly. We are looking to hire a Technical Editor for one of our federal clients.
Essential Job Functions
Review written material and revise it for clarity, grammar, style, and content
Copy editing materials by reviewing style and formatting to ensure documents meets guidelines
Proofreading documents and written products for correct grammar and spelling, and making suggestions to writers, and completing the final review before submittal or publication
Create style guides to help and train writers on the preferred style and writing voice
Produce templates to help writers produce documents
Verifying information to ensure information is correct
Checking facts, reviewing resources, or conducting additional research
Generate new content ideas using a creative process to suggest new content or brainstorm ideas
Collaborate with other writers and subject experts to create quality content, revise materials. And ensure accuracy revising for target audience
Requirements
Education Requirement:
Bachelors Degree
Experience Requirements
Requires no less than 10 years of Technical Editing/Copywriting experience
Requires previous experience with writing to the DHS Writing Style Guide (Approximately 2 years is desired) or comparable experience.
Requires previous experience/use of the CISA House Style Guide and CISA Writing Style Guide or comparable experience.
Requires previous experience in writing policy content using various materials, including NIST standards
Requires previous experience in drafting content for multiple mediums, such as: social media posts, internal emails, talking points, briefings, memos, website content, presentations, reports, etc.
Requires Drupal experience
Requires experience in working with an Executive Secretariat Team
