Job Description

NSF offers comprehensive management systems certification to internationally accepted standards for quality assurance, safety, sustainability and environmental protection, and information security for a wide range of industries including automotive, aerospace, food, health sciences, water, and forestry. As the Technical Manager, Aerospace you'll take the lead in developing and ongoing management of the Aerospace certification scheme programs in line with NSF and accreditation body or partner requirements. You'll be responsible for crafting technical certification scheme documents and overseeing the implementation of certification scheme requirements to guarantee compliance with relevant KPI expectations. You'll assume the role of primary point-of-contact and leader of designated Aerospace schemes, collaborating closely with teams to ensure the successful delivery of scheme services and providing exceptional customer service. You'll manage a team of associated resources to ensure optimal team performance along with collaborating with NSF divisions to ensure the ability to offer NSF clients, and potential future clients, the full range of scheme services available.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor scheme effectiveness and identify opportunities to drive topline performance and growth
  • Ensure that the Aerospace scheme program meets all corporate and accreditation requirements for QA and QC turnaround times, production and annual budget
  • Plan, organize, and conduct key events including client events, annual conferences, and other training events
  • Develop and publish impact studies, case studies, and survey evaluations
  • Provide certification approvals for responsible schemes, conduct onsite witness audits and evaluate program and auditor performance
  • Report findings and communicate results to auditors and audit managers to drive continuous improvement in the quality of audit reports and auditor calibration
  • Be responsible for obtaining new accreditations withing specified timelines while also keeping current program accreditations. This involves working closely with accreditation bodies and NSF’s quality and legal department
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of quality systems to ensure ongoing compliance with internal key performance indicators (KPIs), KPIs of the scheme owners, and accreditation requirements
  • Conduct audits according to agreed-upon KPIs
  • Collaborate with marketing, communications, and business development to strategically market and sell service offerings. Participate in marketing activities and publication goals as necessary
  • Present to manufacturers, trade associations, regulatory agencies, and product user groups in support of sales of scheme services
  • Assist the Business Development teams in developing proposals that meet the unique needs of our clients
  • Track the operational performance of assigned projects and report to the Director
  • Deliver periodic reports to the Director for assigned projects and deliverables
  • Assist the Director in developing, implementing, and monitoring annual operating plans and budget
  • Collaborate with other NSF divisions to ensure the ability to offer NSF clients, and potential future clients, the full range of scheme services available
  • Develop policies and procedures for assigned program areas
  • Provide technical expertise to internal and external customers as needed

Qualifications

  • 10+years of experience with Aerospace auditing programs
  • AS 9100 Certified Auditor
  • Bachelor's degree in related field (may substitute 4 years of additional work experience in lieu of a degree)
  • 2+ years of supervisory and/or leadership experience
  • Technical knowledge of Aerospace schemes and the associated management development processes
  • Experience writing technical documents with a focus on quality systems
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction
  • Excellent organizational, time management and project management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with others as part of a team member and leader
  • Adept in Word, Excel, and Oracle-based applications

Travel Requirements

Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%

Salary Range: $75,000 - $163,000 USD

The total pay range takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At NSF, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
