Our client, a leading provider of risk analytics products, is actively looking for a Technical Writer to join their team! This is a fully remote position, however the candidate must be located in the US.


*** This begins as a 6 month contract with an opportunity to extend or convert at any time ***


About the Role:

In this role you will create accurate, thorough documentation in a dynamic environment to support a variety of information deliverables. You will manage installation guides, help systems, Web services guides, technical white papers, and knowledgebase articles, to name a few. You will also manage multiple projects simultaneously. You will work effectively both on your own and as part of a team.


Responsibilities

  • Writing and editing deliverables in Global English for non-technical and technical users.
  • Gathering information from a variety of sources.
  • Learning complex, technical products and explain them in clear, concise language.
  • Creating graphics, take screenshots, and prepare source files for publication.
  • Collaborating with internal groups to learn about and address customer needs and technical issues related to our products.
  • Applying corporate and legal guidelines and provide input on departmental procedures and best practices.
  • Administering Help systems and documentation distribution systems.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in technical writing, English, computer science, or related field.
  • Have at least 5 years of experience in technical writing.
  • Have an understanding of the principles of structuring information and the documentation and software development processes.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have the ability to learn new software packages quickly, including basic troubleshooting.
  • Have the ability to manage workflow and manage multiple concurrent projects with tight deadlines.
  • Have analytical thinking, organizational awareness, audience and content analysis, conceptual thinking, decision making (problem solving).
  • Have excellent interviewing and research skills.
  • Have the ideal skills in: DITA, XML, GitLab, Alfresco, JIRA, SnagIt 10, Microsoft Word 2010
