Summary Of Position

This role provides support to the Rockies Production Engineering staff under limited supervision. This role will also be responsible for maintaining production databases and supporting engineers with routine daily tasks. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to data management, data analytics, optimization of workflows, workover coordination, offset frac tracking, weekly and quarterly metric reporting, and data mining. These responsibilities will include a balance of analytical projects and procedural tasks.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • This position will provide a variety of technical support in all phases of production activities.
  • Perform routine and advanced assignments supporting production staff through empirical data analysis.
  • Build and maintain company databases for production staff analysis.
    • Format data analytics to include in presentations to management.
  • Track Horizontal Offset Activity, ensuring engineering staff has appropriate time to formulate and execute offset strategies.
  • Manage AFE creation and review process for the production team.
  • Prepare economics evaluations by analyzing costs and asset revenues to maximize production opportunities.
  • Support Civitas’s production, LOE and P&A processes, including tracking costs and associated lookbacks.
  • Support Civitas’s compliance tracking and execution as needed (Bradenhead, RTP, MIT, etc.).
  • Demonstrate commitment to safety and environmental compliance in all job aspects.
  • Support monthly cost accrual data collection/analysis and track variance to historic actuals.
  • Gather and compile well data information and generate various reports/ update well bore schematics.
  • Team Resource for MS Office programs (Excel, Access, PowerBI) and other Production Engineering tools (WellView, AFE Navigator, Execute).
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • Expertise in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Access, Powerpoint).
  • Proficient in Production Engineering tools (WellView, AFE Navigator, Execute) and data analytics software (PowerBI, Spotfire, Tableau, etc).
  • Familiar with or willing to learn database and tools (SQL, Access, etc) and reserves management software (Aries).
  • Strong time management and prioritization to efficiently manage tasks, prioritizing activities, and allocating time effectively to ensure smooth production operations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, relay technical information, and report findings or issues.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently with minimal guidance/oversight.
  • Ability to anticipate needs of staff.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with engineers, operators, and other technicians to achieve production goals and address challenges collectively and efficiently.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering Technology, or similar, or an equivalent combination of experience working as a Technician/Technologist.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience performing a technical support role with an Oil and Gas Operator.
  • Education may be considered in lieu of experience and vice-versa.

Travel Requirements

  • Work is performed at a CIVI location Tues-Thurs with an option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
  • Schedule: traditional 40-hour workweek or alternative schedule of 9 hour works days M-Thurs and 4-hour workdays Friday.
  • Travel required to the Civitas field locations.
