Primary Purpose

To ensure that teachers have the skills and confidence necessary to successfully utilize the technology tools and equipment in use at the location and to ensure that all technology related tools and equipment are maintained in good working order.

Qualifications

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized, accredited college or university
  • Valid educator certification for position of interest preferred
  • Excellent T-TESS or alternative evaluation scores

Special Knowledge/Skills

  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong content knowledge in technology
  • Ability to build and maintain productive relationships among colleagues
  • Ability to multi-task complex administrative activities

Experience

  • Three (3) years’ traditional public classroom teaching experience or equivalent
  • Instructional leadership skills and experience
  • Experience as a presenter/trainer

Major Responsibilities And Duties

Program Management

  • Provide instructional leadership and support for CTE by mentoring teachers; modeling lessons that reflect best practices in planning and lesson design coaching teachers develop technology proficiencies, and guiding the Campus Technology Committee.
  • Provide CTE teachers on campuses professional development in technology and assist teachers in developing a plan of action for professional growth.
  • Coordinate, disaggregate, and analyze data in order to maximize student learning and program evaluation.
  • Organize technology content materials, maintain inventory, and develop and oversee campus technology purchase order requests.
  • Assist in monitoring the implementation of the technology integration objectives via walkthroughs and administrative feedback.
  • Attend district technology specialist meetings and curriculum team meetings.
  • Provide technology resources for teachers to meet the varied learning needs of students.
  • Coordinate TEKS integration and Technology Applications into CTE Content.
  • Assist in the management of the local network and provide a plan for annual replacement cycle.
  • Serve as the liaison between technology suppliers for specialized equipment and Alief ISD.
  • Facilitate the communication between equipment manufacturers, industry/higher education partners and the maintenance and technology departments.

Other

  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Maintain an appropriate level of technology competence to meet the current and future needs of Alief.
  • Implement alternative methods of instruction as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Evaluation

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of Professional Non-Supervisor Personnel.

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals

Posture: Standing, prolonged sitting, occasional kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing pulling, and twisting

Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching; may also require climbing stairs and reaching over head

Lifting: Moderate lifting and carrying (up to 15 pounds); May require occasional heavy lifting and carrying (15-45 pounds)

Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; possible district wide travel; all campuses are temperature controlled with hard surface floors

Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress

Probationary Contract - 220 days plus 4 days of Alief U professional development for a teacher new to the district

2023-2024 Salary Schedule

2024-2025 Salary Schedule is pending school board approval

Salary is based on working 220 days; working less days is less salary
