Technology Training Manager

Position Summary

Position responsible to plan, develop, and coordinate technology training across the City/County enterprise, including the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, productivity suite applications and other enterprise-wide and custom-developed applications. Position will build a technology training curriculum for users based on their job duties and will be responsible for ensuring the current and future end-users in our enterprise are adequately trained on any new system. Position will also manage training materials, reviewing and updating materials on a regular basis.

Position Responsibilities

Manage City/County-wide training program for end-users of technology systems managed by ISA.

Develop technology training curriculums for City/County users based on job duties and technology experience.

Manage technology training contracts and contractors for up to $500,000 annually.

Develop, stage, and manage realistic application training data and training materials to support training courses and demonstration of processes and functions.

Identify and train City/County training leads for each of up to 350 applications, including multiple trainers for ERP.

Oversee the training sessions lead by designated City/County training leads.

Publish and maintain training content via the ERP Knowledge Center.

Update existing training materials and create new material. For ERP, material should be created and updated utilizing Oracle User Productivity Kit (UPK).

Facilitate meetings to gather training requirements and acquire in depth knowledge of system functionality and related business policies and procedures.

Work closely with application development and support team members as well as key customers in the development of training materials for functional users of systems.

Complete pre- and post-training tasks to include but not limited to training room logistics, putting together training materials, identifying participants, tracking participants, conducting surveys and collecting feedback.

Identify and document business requirements and objectives in the current and/or future state relative to systems and processes.

Make process improvement recommendations.

Work with the project management team to meet project deadlines, scope and budget.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology with a minor in business administration preferred and a minimum of five (5) years combined experience as a Business Analyst or IT Trainer required. Business Analysis and Project Management training and/or experience strongly desired. Effective communication skills required. Must be able to communicate with both technical and functional staff, as well as end-users of the system. Detail-oriented and works well under tight deadlines. Self-directed, with a willingness to learn and able to solicit information from staff is required. Ability to make decisions and set direction.

Independent Judgment

Independent judgment is regularly utilized when there are no available policies and procedures and errors in judgment may cause inconveniences and inefficiencies, as well as long-term budgetary and operational problems.
