FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.
Job Description
WTXF Fox 29 is currently seeking an experienced Temporary Broadcast Technician to assist with the production of a Fox First Run program. This temporary position begins in August and lasts through December. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in tuning and troubleshooting satellite receivers for recording programs for on-air broadcast, ensuring the highest quality control. They must also excel at troubleshooting problems with IP-delivered live shots and feeds, monitoring the on-air product to detect transmission issues such as loss of audio or video, and assisting in the identification and resolution of technical problems. Familiarity with LiveU IP transmission technology is highly regarded. Additionally, this role requires the preparation of detailed reports describing any issues encountered during the transmission of programming. Additional duties may be assigned as needed. Prospective candidates need to have availability Monday through Thursday, from 9 am to 5 pm, with the possibility for extra hours on Fridays. An Associate's Degree (A.A.) from a two-year college or technical school is advantageous, and at least 2 years of experience as a Studio Broadcast Technician is required.
