Temporary General Ledger Accountant

Our client, a commercial real estate investment bank , is looking for a temporary General Ledger Accountant to support their Finance and Accounting department! This role is responsible for delivering financial, administrative, and clerical support to the organization. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and strong data entry capabilities


This assignment starts ASAP and will be about 6 months in length, with potential to extend.


Hours: 9am – 5pm


Fully Remote


Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Finance & Accounting team to fulfill daily tasks.
  • Assist Finance & Accounting Management with accounting processes, general ledger maintenance, reconciliation, and month-end close procedures.
  • Provide direct support to the Controller on accounting-related matters and other assigned tasks.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries, including inter-company transactions, payroll, benefits, prepaid expenses, broker-dealer expense allocations, and accruals.
  • Help with balance sheet preparation and monthly account reconciliations.
  • Manage and update the fixed assets register.
  • File and maintain all journal entries for internal and external audits, ensuring that each entry is supported by appropriate e-filed documentation.
  • Assist with operational reporting and the preparation and consolidation of monthly financial statements.
  • Support the internal audit process and perform additional duties as assigned by managers.


Requirements:

  • 2 – 5 years of accounting experience
  • Ability to use ERP system is a must
  • NetSuite experience is required.
  • Excellent computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and Word required
  • Proficient experience with fixed assets, prepaid modules, creating leasing schedules, and uploading journals with templates in NetSuite, retrieving reports in NetSuite and analyzing data
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills. The ability to relate and clearly communicate with operating management, financial staff and other departments, including professional writing style
  • Ability to analyze problems and recommendations and pay attention to detail
  • Ability to initiate projects, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines; exhibit a sense of urgency in performing work
