Tenure Track Assistant or Associate Professor in Management

Job Description

The School of Business at the University of Indianapolis is seeking to add faculty to accommodate growth in its business programs. The School seeks applicants for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor in Management. This is a full-time, nine-month faculty position with a start date of August 2024. This position is a tenure track appointment.

Teaching requirements will consist of courses in management, quality management, organizational behavior or other related courses at the undergraduate level and graduate levels in MBA, Master of Science in Management or Strategic Leadership and Design programs. The normal teaching load is 24 semester hours per academic year. Teaching may occur in face to face or hybrid modalities. Excellence in teaching is paramount for success, so candidates with a track record of excellence in teaching at the higher education level will be strongly favored. Successful candidates should also have demonstrated abilities toward scholarly activity in their fields to advance knowledge as well as remain current. Professional certifications or continuing professional education is a plus. Service to the school, University and community are also requirements for the position. Business outreach efforts will also be involved with this position in the School’s Applied Business program.

The School also has a long-running joint degree program with Ningbo Tech University in Ningbo, China and teaches classes in English in Ningbo.

The ideal candidate would have PhD or DBA in management. Prior experience in applied consulting or work experience in the field is also desirable; prior quality teaching is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a range of management courses at the undergraduate and master’s levels, including but not limited to: organizational behavior, leadership, management, organizational development, business communication, and strategic management.
  • Develop and deliver course content that is current, engaging, and aligned with industry standards.
  • Advise and mentor students, providing guidance on academic and career development.
  • Engage in scholarly activities, including research and publication in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Participate in departmental, college, and university service activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Foster an inclusive and diverse learning environment.
