As part of a diverse and hardworking team of Integration Technicians you will be responsible for facility construction/modification support, facility operation, maintenance, and test article integration for rocket engine and space vehicle testing activities.
We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!
Responsibilities Will Include
Fabrication and routing of pressurization and propellant tubing
Test article integration and checkout
Reviewing, editing, and following Test Procedures
Operation of test facility systems
Installation and checkout of wire harnesses and instrumentation
General trouble shooting of instrumentation, valves, leaks, etc
Working with engineers on design concepts/improvements and development tests
Planning and communicating assembly steps for complex mechanical installations
Providing design feedback on the test stand and test article(s)
Flexibility to support testing campaigns as required – this may mean shift work or extended hours based on testing needs
Safe Working Practices
Safely working with hazardous chemicals and high-pressure systems
Demonstrate a strong bias for safety in operations
Qualifications
Must be able to work flexible shifts
Experience with pneumatic/fluids systems, hydraulics, electrical controls cabinet wiring, harness routing/management, data acquisition and/or networking systems
Experience testing or operating electrical/control systems for avionics or vehicle control systems
Large mechanical assembly of tooling, platforms, and heavy equipment
Demonstrated ability to work with test, flight and safety-critical hardware
Standard mechanical tools, fabrication shop equipment
Ability to read and interpret drawings – P&IDs, fabrication drawings
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
Ability to work off-shift hours and alternate shifts to accommodate testing
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired
Working knowledge of a variety of rocket propellants, including Hydrogen Peroxide, RP, and cryogenics
Knowledge in the use of computer programs such as AutoCAD P&ID or Creo
Familiarity with tube fabrication (bend, flare, fittings, etc) and pressurized system safety
Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight critical hardware
