Truck Driver | Town of Danvers

The Town of Danvers seeks qualified applicants for the full-time (benefited, union) Truck Driver position for the Public Works Department. This position this position is responsible for operating the larger, more complex, public works trucks in performing construction and maintenance tasks. Employees are required to drive trucks and operate attachments on vehicles. Performs routine daily maintenance and cleaning of assigned trucks.

The Town will consider any combination of relevant work experience, volunteerism, education, and transferable skills as qualifying unless an item in the qualification section of the job description is labeled required. Two to three years of public works experience to include a minimum of one (1) year experience in the operations of various sized trucks; graduation from high school or trade school required; or equivalent combination of work/education experience. Associates degree desirable. Possession of a Commercial Driver’s License including general knowledge and air brake endorsement required. Completion of, or ability to complete within six (6) months of hire OSHA 10-hr Construction Safety and Health Training, is required. Completion of, or ability to complete within twelve (12) months of hire, excavation safety and competent person training is required.

This position works 40 hours per week (Mondays – Fridays 7:00AM-3:00PM). Union pay scale, starting rate of pay is $22.63 per hour with ability to move through scale (via step system) to max step of $26.09 per hour.
