Today, MiniCo is a division of Jencap, offering multiple specialty property and casualty insurance products for a variety of unique industries and exposures.

The Underwriter will work a hybrid schedule in our Phoenix Office.

This role is responsible for managing and growing a book of profitable business consisting of commercial insurance policies within a prescribed authority level. Utilize experience and judgement to service, rate and bind policies within state regulatory and underwriting guidelines to meet sales goals while retaining agent relationships.

Responsibilities:

• Determine the acceptability, quality and profitability of existing business based on company underwriting guidelines and objectives within authority level.
• Manages assigned territory so that items such as renewals, endorsements, claim reviews and related transactions are completed accurately within accepted corporate time frames.
• Cross-sell and highlight the benefits of our specialty insurance program to current and prospective customers
• Participates in team meetings to assure an effective/cohesive unit as well as to discuss and act upon company strategies.
• Treats all inquiries on a professional basis, providing timely, courteous, and efficient customer service to agents, policyholders, team members and other departments.
• Make recommendations to Underwriting Team Supervisor on selected risks beyond assigned authority level.
• Collect, maintain, and review data to make informed underwriting decisions.
• Assist in resolving any coverage issues/questions, audits, endorsements, accounting, claims or marketing issues as needed.
  
  

Requirements:

• Requires 3+ years of commercial multi lines insurance experience or equivalent knowledge of rating and underwriting commercial risks
• Experienced in Property and Casualty insurance
• Maintain state-issued P&C agent’s license. If not licensed, license must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
• Minimum of a high school education degree or equivalent
• Proficient computer skills required
