Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Utility-Scale Solar and Battery Storage Project Developer to join our team in the Western USA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in renewable energy project development, with a focus on utility-scale solar and battery storage systems. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent project management skills and the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Development:
  • Lead the development of utility-scale solar and battery storage projects from inception to completion.
  • Conduct site identification, assessment, and acquisition.
  • Oversee feasibility studies, including technical, environmental, and economic assessments.
  • Develop project schedules and manage timelines to ensure on-time delivery.
  1. Regulatory and Permitting:
  • Navigate federal, state, and local permitting processes.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies to obtain necessary approvals and ensure compliance with all regulations.
  • Prepare and submit permit applications, environmental impact assessments, and other required documentation.
  1. Financial Analysis and Budgeting:
  • Develop and manage project budgets.
  • Conduct financial modeling and analysis to assess project viability and profitability.
  • Work with finance teams to secure project financing and manage funding sources.
  1. Stakeholder Management:
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including landowners, community members, government officials, and industry partners.
  • Conduct community outreach and public engagement activities to gain project support.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, legal, and construction departments.
  1. Contract Negotiation:
  • Negotiate power purchase agreements (PPAs), interconnection agreements, and other project contracts.
  • Manage relationships with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Ensure all contractual obligations are met and manage any disputes or changes.
  1. Risk Management:
  • Identify and mitigate project risks.
  • Develop contingency plans to address potential project challenges.
  • Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in renewable energy project development, with a focus on utility-scale solar and battery storage.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and delivering large-scale renewable energy projects.
  • Strong knowledge of the regulatory environment and permitting processes in the Western USA.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience with project budgeting and financial analysis.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Willingness to travel within the Western USA as required.
