Utility Scale Solar Project Development Manager (West Region)

Trina Solar US Project Development & Investment team is looking for a highly accomplished renewable energy project management leader to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a strong entrepreneur to advance their career to the next level. The Project Development Manager will work with cross-functional teams to deliver successful RE projects.


Main Responsibilities:

· Manage solar project development including co-developers, interconnection, permitting, engineering, and revenue contracts

· Lead and coordinate all internal project development tasks with origination, engineering, legal and finance teams

· Negotiates agreements with consultants and subcontractors

· Oversee the entire planning, zoning, and special use approval process in multiple states

· Create and manage all aspects of the project schedule from project kickoff to project close-out including project retrospective meeting

· Ensure projects are completed within scheduled timeframes and budgets

· Provide project status updates to executive management team and internal/external project stakeholders

· Maintain records through project management software

· Serve as point-of-contact for sellers/buyers during each project

· Acquire all necessary permits, and other required approvals to complete project scope

· Manage project due diligence on opportunities



Relevant experience:

· Successfully managed multiple solar projects (utility scale or BESS) and brought them to NTP in WECC area

· 5-10 years of commercial solar project experience in sales, project management, or site supervision

· Knowledge of the solar industry, specific regional regulations, and market mechanisms

· Solar plus storage projects experience preferred

· Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred


Skills and Qualification:

· BS degree required, engineering or relevant masters preferred

· Impeccable time-management skills are a must in order to handle multiple projects simultaneously including prioritizing, organizing and planning effectively to meet all deadlines

· Strong computer skills and detailed knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), Microsoft Project and other PM software

· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

· Excellent team player, prioritizing the fulfillment of team objectives

· Flexible attitude, with the ability to effectively manage unexpected changes

· Strong technical and business acumen to identify and solve project issues

· Strong entrepreneurial spirit with can-do attitude and drive to overcome challenges and succeed

· Self-starter, results-driven, detail-oriented, strong work ethic, striving for excellence.

· Passionate about the solar and renewables industry

· Valid state driver’s license

· Based on the west coast is preferred
