Aunt Sally's Pralines is hiring a Vice President of Accounting.
We are a family-owned business, operating in New Orleans since 1935. We are a diverse, respectful, fun place to work, and we are looking for an experienced, positive and dedicated leader to join our team.
Experience in food manufacturing, retail and/or wholesale operations is required.
Job Summary:
Responsible for the efficient and accurate operation of all accounting functions and execution of HR programs and be the lead contact with IT vendors.
Effectively work with management to facilitate cross-department collaboration to ensure accurate financials delivered on time.
Position reports to the CEO.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Accounting
- Timely prepare all financial reports and metrics, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax returns, and governmental agency reports.
- Participate in budgeting. Evaluate and report performance against goals.
- Collaborate with the CEO on operational and strategic issues. Provide strategic recommendations based on financial analysis.
- Continuously review all finance procedures, processes, and administration, recommending improvements, and managing the systems going forward.
Human Resources
- Participate in the development of HR policies.
- Lead the execution of such policies with management, employees, and contractors, ensuring legal compliance.
- Administer HR programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes, investigations, occupational health and safety, training and development.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources and employment law. Apply this knowledge to recommend changes to upper management.
- Direct and oversee all HR functions including the processing of new employees, payroll, preparation of W2s and 1099s, separation processes and administration, worker’s comp coverage, and health insurance programs.
Information Technology (computer hardware and software; operating systems; security cameras; alarm systems, e-commerce)
- Be the main contact with external IT vendors.
- Continuously review all IT systems, contracts, processes, administration, and recommend improvements.
- Oversee security of systems and facilitate IT security audits or investigations as needed.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proven track record in leadership and working well with others.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent time management/ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Positive attitude and ability to motivate others.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Expert in Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
- Proficient in the latest technology for Accounting, HR, IT systems and management.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; master’s degree, CPA, or MBA preferred.
- At least seven years of progressively responsible professional experience in accounting and HR.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
