Why This Job

The VP & GM is a key member of the executive team with responsibility for providing leadership in sales and operations for a 300M Business Unit in a multi-billion dollar publicly traded company. This business provides construction related products and rentals to local contractors across the US. This role will execute the Business Unit’s strategic plan to promote aggressive growth of revenue and profitability. The VP & GM will focus on achieving financial and operational targets, as determined by the current AOP with safety, quality and people development as prime drivers, while ensuring that we meet customer expectations for on-time and in full, arrival of their goods and services.


What You’ll Do

  • Develop and execute a strategic plan to promote a best-in-class and professionalized approach to safety, customer services, people development, profitability, and growth for the Business Unit
  • Collaborate closely with Executive Leadership and other Company Departments to reach annual targets and long-term growth objectives
  • Present proactive ideas and ongoing reviews of short- and long-term capital planning projects
  • Identify acquisition and merger opportunities and provide project management of internal and external resources to grow the Business Unit’s footprint
  • Oversee the daily operations of the divisions specific line of Business, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and optimal performance across all departments
  • Direct all sales and operational aspects including distribution operations, customer service, and administration in ways that ensure maximum productivity
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the business leadership team, ensuring high performance and professional development
  • Drive initiatives that include identifying, approaching, presenting and closing new business, maintaining and growing existing accounts, and achieving sales objectives and annual revenue goals


What You’ll Need

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in Construction Management, Supply Chain, or Operations
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a lead management role
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data and then to use that to generate ideas
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial aspects of a business unit including P&L statements, budgets, and impact of volume, price and cost
  • Be a proven change leader with experience in cultural and performance change
  • Have a bias for action and strong results orientation
  • Have well-developed interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively across multi-functional teams and cultures
  • The ability to travel as needed
