Position Overview

To strengthen our growth, we are currently seeking the position of:

Vice President Sales, Artisan and Distribution Channel

(Canada)

Reporting directly to the President Puratos Canada, the successful candidate for this key senior management function will direct and develop the Artisan & Distributor channel in Puratos Canada.

The person will develop the long-term vision, strategy, and tactics for the A&D channel, increase sales to Regional Retailers, Semi-Industry, and Artisans using our Preferred Distributors, build a high-performing team to build market share in key Canadian markets such as Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia, and Alberta, and increase the profitability of the Channel by selling value-added products and creating a new and unique customer experience that differentiates Puratos from the competition. The person will be an artisan and distribution ambassador within the Puratos Group and beyond.

The location of this position can be flexible, as long as it’s within easy proximity to one of the three major international airports in Canada: Toronto, Vancouver or Montreal.

Key Accountabilities

  • Leadership: Attract, lead, develop, and evaluate the work of the team to ensure a healthy working environment and deliver company goals. Evaluate the success of the team and company in achieving its goals and formulating plans to correct any issues if the company is not achieving its goals.
  • Business Development/Management: Develop and help achieve sales growth targets focused on key product categories. Build top-to-top relationships with key customers and build strategic partnerships with industry leaders (baking schools, distributor networks, trade organizations). Maintain awareness of competitors, expansion opportunities, customers, markets, and new industry developments and standards.
  • Internal Collaboration: Collaborate with various Business Development Teams (both domestic and international) to develop the product strategy for the channel, launch local innovations, and develop business with strategic customers (customer visits, promote unique capabilities, product prioritization, coordinate supply chain & pricing).
  • Others: Analyse financial reports and prepare sales budgets. Help grow Puratos Magic internally and externally.
  • Travel to customers is a job requirement and % will vary depending on geographic location of incumbent. International travel may be required from time to time.

Profile

  • A University degree and/or minimum of 10 years of experience in sales and/or marketing
  • Experience and accomplishments in the food industry (baking & ingredients), B2B and assets is a key requirement.
  • A 5-years+ people leader who excels in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Able to educate, motivate and inspire others in an organization driven by a sales/service culture.
  • A fully developed level of negotiation, project management and analytical ability to drive operational efficiencies and business growth.
  • Possess strong interpersonal, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills with ability to inspire the teams and to make impactful presentations and reports to senior/top management team in the region/group.
  • Proficient in personal computer software applications including Microsoft Word, Power Point, Outlook, AI tools, experience with SAP and CRM is a plus.
  • Strategically and result oriented, demonstrate strong business acumen.
  • Work independently and has a strong ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
