802 Credit Union is accepting applications for the position of VP of Finance/Controller. This position is based out of our Brattleboro Operations Center, 36 Chickering Dr, Brattleboro VT. Responsibilities of this position include:
The directing, coordinating, maintaining and controlling of our accounting system that properly reflects the financial position of the Company.
Monitoring Department policies and procedures and recommending improvements, consulting with Senior Management Team, participating in establishing and implementing major goals and objective and serve as a resource in all aspects of accounting.
Ensure accurate internal and external recording and reporting of financial transactions.
Overseeing budgeting, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed asset management etc.
Ensure accounting activities are in accordance with established legal, regulatory, and Company policy.
Assign and direct and appraise accounting staff.
The ideal candidate would have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or related field; CPA preferred. Have a thorough knowledge of financial and accounting practices and procedures and understand governmental regulations and reporting requirements. They would understand the related auditing and IT functions as well as have a broad -based knowledge of the entrepreneurial business environment. Five or more years of high-level accounting experience and three or more years of supervisory experience is preferred.
