Vice President of Accounting

Our client is an insurance firm. They seek a Vice President of Accounting to join their Jersey City, NJ office.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for statutory reporting across multiple legal entities
• Contribute to technical accounting and investment accounting matters
• Provide technical and operational leadership across accounting functions
• Implement accounting policies and procedures, adhering to GAAP and IFRS
• Optimize accounting systems and processes to deliver continuous improvements
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes and reporting
• Establish internal auditing processes and coordinate external audits
• Utilize knowledge of accounting principles to develop the accounting team

Requirements

• 12+ years of statutory reporting experience
• Public (Big 4+) and private accounting background
• P&C or life insurance experience preferred
• Strong management and organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• CPA preferred
