Vice President, Asset Management Division: Bureau Veritas Technical Assessments LLC (Ellicott City, MD) seeks Vice President, Asset Management Division responsible for ensuring that division objectives are accomplished, by providing leadership, management, attention to fiscal responsibility and quality service to internal and external clients on their engineering projects. Serve as an available consultative resource for clients on engineering matters. Participate in Business Plan developments and implementation for new engineering projects. Develop proposals for Client and Project specific Scopes of Work for engineering projects. Direct interface with Sales staff to assure clients’ expectations and needs are met on engineering projects. Interface on a regular basis with Program Managers, ensuring conformance of engineering program standards and procedures, and provide guidance and assistance to technical and administrative support staff. Maintain profitability goals as established in the budgets, based on manpower capacity and revenue goals. Work closely with finance to create annual budget and quarterly updates. Plan departmental objectives by studying requirements, market demand, identifying and forecasting trends; conferring and collaborating with other members of management. Participate in regularly scheduled meetings and special committees and assists the EVP of Operations as needed to help achieve Operation’s goals. Provide thought leadership and champion new engineering-related services in support of company growth. Ascertain and communicate Client expectations/objectives within Sales and Tech-Ops and evaluate the opportunity to upsell. Serve as liaison to the Client during the performance of engineering project work and consult with the Client as needed. Meet with new and existing Clients as necessary to further strengthen and expand relationships. Track ongoing engineering projects and maintain flow of work shipping on a daily basis. Perform QA/QC review and final review for complex technical protocols by evaluating and interpreting data to characterize recognized architectural and engineering concerns identified at client property, reviewing and editing deliverable quality reports and accompanying correspondence for complex client protocols. Maintain client protocols by assessing scope of technical work and format required by clients for their engineering projects; manage development of report formats. Responsible for the efficient and effective allocation of departmental resources. Maintain departmental operations by initiating, coordinating and enforcing operational and personnel policies and procedures. Provide technical expertise/guidance on engineering topics for the department by monitoring technical updates/changes based on the industry and maintaining technical competencies requirements for department staff. Assist in the development of training programs and provide technical training on an as-needed basis to clients. Manage division staff job results by coaching, counseling employees; plan, monitor and appraise job results. Retain and assist in the management of sub-contractors, vendor ratings and sub-contractor database program on engineering projects. Ensure standard operating procedures are documented on engineering projects. Provide direction to carry out standard operating procedures on engineering projects. Responsible for enforcing Health & Safety goals of the division. Uphold industry and company standards by providing guidance on technical issues, utilizing knowledge of engineering. Utilize knowledge of federal, state and local environmental requirements/guidelines as they pertain to engineering projects; advise the department of changes in legislation. Enhance professional and technical knowledge in the engineering field by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies. Follow documented policies, Standard Operating Procedures, and Work Instructions. May telecommute from any location in the U.S. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Construction Management, or a related field, and five (5) years of progressive, postbaccalaureate experience in managing complex infrastructure projects involving Program Management, Engineering Management, and Construction Management, including experience in staff management, risk assessment, value engineering and detailed engineering. Salary offered: $130,021 - $250,000.
