We are partnered with a leading provider of facilities maintenance services, specializing in janitorial, security, and electrical solutions. As they aim to achieve our growth target of $300M in revenue by 2030, we are seeking a highly strategic and hands-on leader to join our team as Vice President of Business Development. This role will be pivotal in driving new business opportunities and expanding our client base across key sectors.


Position Overview:

The Vice President of Business Development will play a critical role in developing and executing strategies to increase lead generation and drive growth for the business. This individual will oversee the inside sales and marketing teams, collaborate closely with the field sales team, and manage all aspects of our CRM (Zoho). Additionally, this individual will take a hands-on role in managing our website, email marketing campaigns, cold calling efforts, proposal management, and RFP responses. The ideal candidate will be both a strategic thinker and a tactical executor who can navigate the high-level vision while also working directly with the team to meet targets.


Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy to support the businesses goal of reaching $300M in revenue by 2030.
  • Work closely with the CRO to identify new market opportunities, emerging trends, and key areas for growth in the janitorial, security, and electrical services sectors.
  • Lead the development of annual sales plans, set clear objectives, and ensure alignment with overall company goals.


Team Leadership and Collaboration

  • Directly oversee the inside sales and marketing teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Collaborate closely with the field sales team to support lead generation efforts, presentations, and relationship management.
  • Lead by example, providing hands-on coaching and mentorship to team members while driving individual and collective performance.


CRM and Marketing Oversight

  • Manage and optimize the use of Zoho CRM to track, manage, and nurture leads from initial contact to contract close.
  • Oversee the company’s website and ensure it is effectively aligned with lead generation, SEO, and brand positioning strategies.
  • Develop and execute targeted email marketing campaigns to generate leads and nurture relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Ensure cold calling efforts are coordinated and effectively executed to generate a consistent pipeline of qualified leads.


Lead Generation and Business Development:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, focusing on high-growth sectors and strategic clients.
  • Develop and manage multi-channel lead generation initiatives, including digital marketing, cold outreach, and networking events.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within target markets.


Proposal and RFP Management

  • Lead the development and standardization of proposals and RFP responses, ensuring high-quality submissions that reflect the company’s strengths and capabilities.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling sales presentations and materials that support the field sales team.
  • Oversee the coordination and submission of RFPs, ensuring all deadlines and requirements are met.


Performance Tracking and Reporting

  • Utilize CRM analytics and other reporting tools to monitor lead generation, pipeline health, and conversion rates.
  • Provide regular performance updates to the CRO and other senior leadership on business development activities and outcomes.
  • Continuously analyze the effectiveness of lead generation and marketing strategies, adjusting tactics as needed to achieve targets.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in business development, with a proven track record of success in a facilities maintenance or similar industry.
  • Strong leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and manage cross-functional teams.
  • Expertise in CRM systems (preferably Zoho) and experience leveraging CRM data to drive business development decisions.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing strategies, email campaigns, cold calling, and other lead generation techniques.
  • Exceptional proposal management and RFP response skills, with a strong understanding of best practices in sales presentations.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to be hands-on and involved in day-to-day operations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment.
