GENERAL FUNCTION

The Vice President of Distribution leads the Logistics Operations and is part of the Logistics and Distribution leadership team. This role is essential for managing and optimizing all warehouse operations, handling a diverse range of products for EssilorLuxottica North American Retail, Wholesale, E-Commerce, and other divisions. The VP oversees a complex, high-volume distribution network with multiple centers, serving 50,000 customers daily, shipping over 150,000 boxes weekly across various channels. This senior leadership position requires a blend of operational and strategic expertise to ensure seamless operations, compliance with OSHA standards, and prioritization of safety.

Major Duties And Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize warehouse operations, enhance efficiency, and reduce costs while meeting company objectives and customer demands.
  • Drive performance and create long-term value through technical expertise, strategic thinking, and effective communication.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement to enhance efficiency, speed, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Lead a salaried staff team, ensuring service levels meet brand, channel, and business unit requirements.
  • Ensure scheduled maintenance of equipment and high housekeeping standards in line with EssilorLuxottica 7S procedures.
  • Develop and maintain KPIs to achieve productivity and budget targets while ensuring top-level customer service.
  • Foster a positive work environment, promote open communication, and enhance employee engagement and retention. Ensure diversity and inclusion within the leadership team.
  • Accountable for employee health and safety, ensuring a clean and safe workplace. Build and maintain key relationships with internal and external business partners and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with IT, Automation, and Continuous Improvement departments to define and deploy systems and processes.
  • Define and cascade goals and KPIs for each team.
  • Oversee inventory management and stock keeping.
  • Develop and manage annual operating budgets, holding full accountability for the distribution P&L.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial or mechanical engineering (Preferred), Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field
  • 15+ years in distribution operations management in multinational, complex organizations focused on service and customer experience.
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP/MRP systems. Proficiency in total distribution process management, inventory management, process audits, and financial management.
  • Strong organizational, motivational, and analytical skills. Resilience under pressure with quick decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent staff relations and managerial skills with a history of leading high-performing teams. Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven track record in leading successful projects within budget and timelines.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment and matrixed organization. Experience in union management or prevention.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive EBITDA growth in a fast-paced, complex environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA preferred.
  • Previous management experience in a reverse logistics environment.
  • Expertise in logistics and after-sales services. Strategic experience within operations in fast-growing enterprises.
  • Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt.

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
