The Vice President of in Market Sales is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth, managing sales operations, and developing sales strategies to monetize audiences across our network. This role demands a visionary leader who can inspire a high-performing sales team, foster strong relationships with key clients, and navigate the evolving media landscape to maximize profitability.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is between $230k and $270k annually, plus commission. Individual base pay may vary within that range depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, relevant education, department equity, training, geography, and local wage and hours laws.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve company revenue targets and market share growth.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align sales objectives with broader company goals and strategic initiatives.

Sales Management

  • Oversee and mentor a high-performing sales team, ensuring effective recruitment, training, and development.
  • Set performance goals, monitor progress, and implement best practices to drive sales excellence and team productivity.
  • Ability to lead teams through change during the ongoing transformation of our business.

New Business Development

  • Put forth a go-to-market strategy highlighting the unique value proposition and are fueled by our audiences.
  • Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities across the all markets, including emerging trends and industry developments.
  • Analyze market dynamics, competitor activities, and customer needs to inform strategic decisions and drive market penetration.

Revenue Growth & Performance

Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track sales performance, profitability, and market share.

Work with division leadership to implement strategies to optimize pricing, promotions, and sales channels to enhance revenue and profitability.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with marketing, product, and operations teams to ensure alignment and integration of sales initiatives.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to the executive team on sales performance, market trends, and strategic recommendations.
  • Cascade out information on company performance, goals and mission.
  • Culture & Adaptability:
  • Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the sales team.
  • Reward and recognize top performers.
  • Ongoing coaching and mentoring of division leadership. Identifying opportunities to grow and develop current and future leaders.
  • Develop team goals that are aligned with company and division goals.
  • Stay abreast of industry developments, technological advancements, and evolving consumer behaviors to adapt sales strategies accordingly.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Media, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive sales experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the media or related industry.

  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth and managing large-scale sales operations.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience in building and leading high-performing teams.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Adept at analyzing market trends, customer insights, and financial performance to inform strategic planning.
