We are seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Payroll to lead and manage the payroll operations for a global investment manager based in Midtown, NYC. The VP of Payroll will oversee all aspects of payroll processing, compliance, and reporting while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to all applicable laws and regulations. This individual will play a critical role in driving continuous improvement, leveraging technology, and fostering a high-performance culture within the payroll department. Extensive experience with ADP is required for this role. This role will also manage benefits vendors.
This role is in the office 4 days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate payroll execution for a large, multi-state workforce.
- Oversee the administration and compliance of all payroll activities, including tax filings, wage and hour compliance, and benefits integration.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations, particularly in relation to New York City and other applicable jurisdictions.
- Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Provide strategic leadership for payroll-related projects, including system implementations, upgrades, and process improvements.
- Leverage ADP systems and tools to streamline payroll operations and optimize workflows.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other departments to ensure seamless integration of payroll with other business functions.
- Oversee payroll audits and ensure the accuracy of payroll data for internal and external reporting.
- Manage vendor relationships with payroll service providers, ensuring quality service delivery.
- Stay up to date on industry best practices and legislative changes impacting payroll operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 10+ years of experience in payroll management
- Extensive experience using ADP payroll systems (Workforce Now, ADP Vantage, etc.) is required.
- Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations and international payroll
- Demonstrated experience in process improvement, technology implementation, and payroll systems optimization.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
