Job Title: Vice President of Sales (Specialty Chemicals)


Client: My client is an innovative, early-stage company specializing in the development of lower-cost biotechnology solutions for sustainable chemical manufacturing.


Role:

They are seeking a motivated and experienced Vice President of Sales to join our team and help bring our new products to market. This position focuses on business development and sales of our chemical portfolio, targeting sectors such as cosmetics, nutrition, pharmaceuticals, flavor/fragrance, and fine chemicals.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily sales and business development activities for our chemical portfolio.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, driving revenue by focusing on product solutions and developing new business opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain long-term, productive relationships with current customers by understanding their business needs and addressing challenges.
  • Focus on business-to-business (B2B) sales in industries such as specialty chemicals, flavor, cosmetics, nutrition, and colorants.
  • Leverage existing relationships with innovation scouts, purchasing, and supply chain professionals at major chemical purchasers.
  • Collaborate on digital marketing and outreach efforts to gain new customers and expand brand presence.

Requirements:

  • Proven B2B sales experience in specialty chemicals, flavors, cosmetics, nutrition, or adjacent industries.
  • Strong presentation, storytelling, and strategic planning skills.
  • A background in chemistry or biology is preferred.
  • Ability to use technical knowledge to drive sales of new and existing chemical products.
  • Existing relationships with industry professionals (innovation scouts, purchasing/supply chain) are highly desirable.


Additional Information:

  • Open to a wide range of pay brackets and titles, depending on experience.
  • This role can be either business development or sales, depending on the overlap between partnerships and sales responsibilities.
  • On-site presence is preferred for team integration, but remote work is possible for the right candidate.
