Association experience required
Create and launch new service offerings for their membership base
3 days in office in DC
This role is for someone who has created and managed services offered to the members of the association.
This is not a software product development role.
A dynamic, growing association is looking for a strategic executive to lead its development of new product/service offerings for their members. The person in this leadership role will be in charge of defining the product/service vision and strategy, as well as collecting and prioritizing customer and product requirements. They will also be responsible for launching and managing services throughout their lifecycle, using a data-driven approach that relies on both quantitative and qualitative data. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for understanding and predicting customer needs, as well as a strong drive to solve their problems. This position reports to the Chief Revenue Officer.
Responsibilities
- Own the Product/service Vision and Strategy: Develop the business case and build products for members and nonmembers, from ideation and market research through development and launch working with key partners and stakeholders.
- Drive Impact and Demonstrate Value: Track critical service and business metrics to continuously iterate and improve the value proposition of the Association’s product offerings.
- Plans and executes complex product plans for Association offerings
- Defines product goals, activities, and develops work plans for new product initiatives
- Formulates creative and innovative approaches to accomplishing service objectives
- Coordinates activities of team members to achieve product goals and timelines
- Consult with Senior Leaders to identify product resource requirements and identify professional skill sets that should be addressed to meet current and future project needs
- Plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates activities related to large, complex, new product enterprise projects as assigned
- Develop key data, and metrics for reporting, leadership review and approval, and enterprise communications
- Defines project parameters and specifications
- Organizes and manages related resources
- Ensures the quality and integrity of product deliverables
- Creates and maintains reporting dashboards and product documentation
- Prepares and presents project presentations to senior management, the Board, and other key stakeholders
- Works with teams to prepare content for internal and external communication
- Takes responsibility for deliverables to ensure high-quality final products
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required;
- 10+ years of progressive business experience, 7+ years of product strategy/product management experience
- Strategy consulting experience valued
- Association experience desired
- Track record of launching successful new products and managing them through periods of continued strong growth and retention
- Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams to deliver products or services.
- Proven ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience with market research, market opportunity sizing, market segmentation, pricing, creating value propositions, communication and training, etc.
- Extremely proactive leader with an ownership mindset. Strong commercial acumen and a bias for action. Ability to balance tradeoffs, prioritize for business impact, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and do what it takes
- Strong quantitative and qualitative data analytics capabilities and experience: including the ability to turn quantitative analysis into actionable recommendations with measurable business impact
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Problem solver, curious, organized, growth mindset, client-focused
