ICP Group is seeking a dynamic and hands-on leader to manage the Product and Process Technology function within a large North American business unit. This business unit develops, manufactures, and markets innovative products for use in residential and commercial roofing. The portfolio includes silicone, acrylic and asphaltic coatings and accessories as well as specialized roof underlayments and driveway sealers.
This position will be based in Tampa, FL.

This individual will manage our R&D team and be responsible for our R&D assets including our laboratory in Tampa, Florida.
Role
In this role, an effective candidate will make an impact by managing the Technology organization and collaborating with his/her peers to:

Responsibilities
This individual will manage our R&D team and be responsible for our R&D assets including our laboratory in Tampa, Florida.
Role
In this role, an effective candidate will make an impact by managing the Technology organization and collaborating with his/her peers to:
- Build a deep understanding of our critical products, their performance in core applications and their competitive positioning in the marketplace
- Identify new trends and opportunities in our markets and related technologies and invest resources appropriately to maintain leadership in the industry.
- Build a pipeline of new products and advance those products to timely and effective commercial launch. Develop, implement and lead processes to ensure consistent product development, managing opportunity and risk appropriately.in the following areas:
- New Product & Process Technology Development
- Value Engineering and Management of Change
- Intellectual Property
- Provide technical support to our Manufacturing team to ensure consistent quality of existing products, to drive continuous improvement in our formulation costs and manufacturing processes, and to enable faster and successful transition of new products into our plants.
- Support and build upon laboratory safety culture and best practices.
- Advanced degree (MS, PhD or equivalent experience) in Materials Science or Chemical Engineering
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in product development, process engineering, and/or technology leadership roles within the formulated chemicals industry
- Experience and established track record of developing successful pipeline of new products and commercializing them
- Willingness to engage directly with direct reports and colleagues in our labs, in our plants and in the field as needed to understand and solve problems, increase scientific & quantitative rigor and identify new opportunities.
- Proven track record of successful project management and ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills combined with an ability to communicate effectively across functions and levels within the company (from the plant floor to the CEO)
