AN OPPORTUNITY TO JOIN THE NPT TEAM

The Vice President, Philanthropic Consulting is responsible for oversight of NPT’s Philanthropic Consulting offering, leading business development for this offering, execution of philanthropic consulting projects, and marketing and strategic positioning. As needed, the Vice President, Philanthropic Consulting provides support to other initiatives of the Philanthropic Solutions team, including departmental initiatives.

Salary range is $170,000 - $190,000

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Philanthropic Consulting Oversight: Serve as the lead relationship manager for NPT’s consulting clients. Develop and execute customized solutions to meet clients’ needs, including strategy development, coaching, training and deep sector research. In some cases, execute projects independently. In other cases, lead project teams to efficiently produce high-quality deliverables.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of two (+) direct reports, providing coaching and ensuring high-quality work product. Work with internal teams to develop project management systems and/or improve the efficiency of existing systems.
  • Philanthropic Sector Relationship Lead: Manage relationships with sector partners; cultivate opportunities to share content and learning; ensure NPT staff are apprised of the educational and professional benefits of NPT’s membership in specific associations. Promote knowledge of philanthropy sector trends and best practices across NPT. Serve as subject matter expert.
  • Development and Distribution of On-demand Philanthropic Resources: Work with other NPT teams, including Marketing, Communications and Design, to create donor- and advisor-facing resources for those seeking to enhance their philanthropic impact as well as thought-leadership content on philanthropic topics. Liaise with NPT’s financial service partners to market consulting services and advisor-centric content.
  • Innovation: Propose new strategic offerings to meet donors’ philanthropic goals and objectives; work with the team to develop and launch these offerings.

  • Empower and coach a team of two (+) direct reports, fostering their professional development and maximizing their contributions to high-quality deliverables.
  • Provide strategic direction and delegate tasks effectively to ensure team members are working towards shared goals and maximizing their potential.
  • Cultivate a positive and inclusive work environment that fosters collaboration, innovation, and high morale.
  • Employ a solution-oriented, partnership approach with team members, others across the organization and key relationships/ business stakeholders outside of NPT to maximize our service delivery.
  • Provide exceptional care and stewardship to our donors and their advisors.
  • Serve as a mentor to colleagues within the Philanthropic Solutions team, fostering professional growth and knowledge sharing.
  • Promote knowledge of philanthropy sector trends and best practices Across NPT. Serve as subject matter expert.


QUALITY AND PROCESS IMPROVEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Uphold the highest standards of respect and care for our donors and their charitable gifts.
  • Continuously improve the donor experience, striving to provide exceptional service.
  • Ensure timely responses to donor inquiries (within 24 hours).
  • Propose methods to enhance donor service and departmental efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the management team to document procedures that ensure effective resource utilization, align with NPT’s standards, and support strategic objectives.


WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Undergraduate Degree or equivalent experience required; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 10 to 15 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in philanthropic consulting or advising preferred, for high-net worth and ultra-high net worth philanthropists and or foundations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with strong organizational, interpersonal, and presentation abilities.
  • Demonstrated initiative, creative problem-solving, and strategic thinking.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a proven ability to prioritize projects effectively.
  • Adaptability to manage competing priorities and navigate changes efficiently.
  • Unwavering commitment to quality and high personal performance standards.
  • Unquestionable integrity, reliability, and commitment to keeping promises.
  • Ability to admit mistakes, take responsibility for outcomes, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Proven experience handling client concerns with tact and diplomacy.
