Summary: The Vice President leads the business line including business development activities, managing a team of professionals, and directing all public works projects for the North Texas region. The priorities for this position include strategic planning, product design, quality assurance, and problem resolution. The Vice President must execute product design to meet company objectives, collaborate with management, and develop systems and controls to ensure compliance with quality standards.
General Responsibilities:
Building relationships and growing business in the public works sector including utilities, drainage, and roads.
Develop intermediate and long-range strategic planning for the business line.
Lead business development activities by marketing to existing clients as well as identifying, and marketing to new clients.
Support technical efforts for business development such as preparation of responses to RFPs and SOQs, the preparation for presentations, and interfacing/coordinating the efforts of the office.
Responsible for the quality assurance program for project deliverables within the business line.
Manage the design team's performance on assigned projects.
Develop and justify operations budgets.
Responsible for the Profit/Loss of a $10 million annual revenue business line.
Prepare reports for and advise senior management regularly regarding the activities of the division.
Participate in monthly Operations Meetings with Sector Leaders, the President, and the Business Solutions team.
Actively participate in professional associations and civic organizations within the community
Required Education/Licenses:
Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited college or university
Registration as a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas
Required Experience:
10 years of experience as a practice leader and business developer
20 years experience in public infrastructure planning & design
Experience in the North Texas region
Ability to effectively communicate, both oral and written skills
