Reporting to the Chief Facilities and Real Estate Officer, the Vice President, Security will provide executive-level leadership and management of all security departments, functions and programs for the Children's Health enterprise. Accountabilities include developing and maintaining a corporate shared service model which enhances governance, department administrative functions, policy and process standardization, technology deployment, performance standards, workforce development and departmental budgets. This position is also responsible for security risk reviews providing mitigation recommendations, closing identified gaps, and implementing recommended actions. In addition to running current-state operations, this individual will be highly involved in the planning and development of our new pediatric campuses planned for 2031.

The ideal candidate will bring 10 years of substantial and progressive leadership experience in security, public safety, law enforcement, or related field. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent, relevant experience is required, an advanced degree along with a Health Protection Administrator (or equivalent) certification is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities Include
- Provide corporate-wide strategic leadership and direction to security services to ensure a safe, secure, and orderly environment. Ensure departmental policies, practices and objectives are aligned with CHST's mission, vision and strategic plans, including development of new facilities and buildings.
- Develop, implement and maintain security and crime prevention strategies and initiatives.
- Responsible for security technology planning and implementation. Ensure current technologies are being utilized fully and managed properly, develop and implement a security technology master plan that addresses needs out 5+ years.
- Coordinate and collaborate with public safety, law enforcement, and community organizations. Maintain effective relationships with counterparts at UT Southwestern Medical Center, Parkland Health, and other local government officials, community leaders, and public.
