Role Overview EmpowHERto is seeking a motivated and passionate volunteer to join our team as the Director of People and Culture Operations. As a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering young women, we believe that a diverse, inclusive, and supportive culture is essential to achieving our mission. The People & Culture Director will play a key role in shaping our organization's culture and fostering a positive and engaging environment for our volunteers and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Culture Development and Implementation
- Develop and implement strategies to foster a positive and inclusive organizational culture.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and leadership team to establish and maintain policies and practices that support employee engagement and retention.
- Onboarding and Training
- Develop and implement onboarding and training programs for new volunteers and staff members.
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Initiatives
- Lead initiatives to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization.
- Communication and Collaboration
- Act as a liaison between volunteers and staff members to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Collaborate with the Communications Director to develop internal communication strategies that keep all volunteers informed and engaged.
- Conflict Resolution
- Facilitate conflict resolution and mediate interpersonal issues as needed.
- Volunteer Recognition
- Develop and manage a volunteer recognition program to acknowledge and celebrate the contributions of our volunteers.
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (such as Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Business Administration) or equivalent experience.
- Experience
- At least 3 years of experience in human resources, people & culture, or organizational development role.
- Skills
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders.
- Knowledge of best practices in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Passion for EmpowHERto’s mission and values.
