Our client, a consumer goods company, has partnered with Logis to find their next Vice President of Accounting. The Vice President of Accounting reports to the Chief Financial Officer and will find themselves in important strategy and earnings meetings with the CEO, CAO, CFO, and other senior level leadership.
The role offers great C Level visibility where you will be front and center with developing Board and Executive presentations.
Job Duties
- Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual close financial package for board and executive teams.
- Work with financial and accounting teams to maintain budgets, while overseeing accounting policies, proper GAAP alignment, external financial reporting, internal management reporting, cash management, accounting operations, month-end close, and audit coordination
- Strong knowledge of Internal Controls and putting in processes in place that comply with Internal Audit Director’s control guidance
- Support product costing strategy (valuations, payments, order flow)
- Analyze sales, cost of sales, margins, scrap and overhead; develop inventory valuations, product costing, operation and project reporting
- Complete of all corporate reporting requirements (e.g., payroll, insurance, tax filing, quarterly reporting, etc.,)
- Partner with Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis on cross-functional areas to develop, support, and improve the systems, policies, and procedures necessary to drive efficiency and provide meaningful financial data
- Communication with FP&A will be thoughtful with the common goal to identify trends within the organizations that may be able to provide cost-saving suggestions
- Monitor, assess and implement new accounting pronouncements, working with stakeholders to analyze the impact on the operational & financial performance of the company
- Monthly review of financials, including budget versus actual and period over period variance analysis
- Primary responsibility for the annual audit at the division level; work closely with the corporate team to facilitate consolidation as well as annual and quarterly reporting
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Business (Master’s degree a strong plus)
- Minimum of 10 years of experience
- Experience with NetSuite or SAP or other mid-tier cloud based ERP system
- Excellent presentation and written communication skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
