  • CPA and bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business is required.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of US GAAP.
  • 10+ years in senior accounting management roles with at least 5+ years as a Controller.
  • Extensive experience in financial operations management, including cash flow management, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Strong decision-making skills in accounting and business operations.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with banks, tax advisors, and external auditors.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written and communication skills.
  • Experience managing a diverse global accounting team and collaborating effectively across departments.

  • Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Finance, the Vice President, Controller has primary responsibility for the management of the organization's global accounting department, including all aspects of accounting, treasury, payroll, commission, and equity administration.
  • As the day-to-day operations leader for the accounting department, this position is responsible for implementing new accounting standards and procedures, instituting internal controls to minimize risks as well as the preparation of financial reports in accordance with US GAAP standards for annual audits, tax compliance, management, regulatory agencies, and the Board of Directors.
  • Coordinates the accounting activities with departments across the organization and ensures that all financial transactions /information/reports are accurately and timely reported.
  • Oversees all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems.
  • Responsible for complex accounting areas such as lease accounting, goodwill, intangibles, stock-based compensation, and analysis of technical accounting issues.
  • Directs the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, annual, and consolidated financial accounting close processes.
  • Leads all audits worldwide and tax preparation activity and manages relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and banks.
  • Active participation in M&A activities including managing purchase price allocation process with external firm.
  • Proactively look for and implement process improvements including systems enhancements and integrations, policy changes, workflow changes and spreadsheet redesign.
  • Manages, mentors, and develops a high-performing professional accounting team of 12+ individuals worldwide.
  • Supports FP&A team on cash and financial forecasts.
  • Performs other duties as necessary.

  • 4+ years in data engineering and/or product management.
  • Must be located in Pacific time zone, local to the SF Bay Area a plus.
  • Experience with global teams and willingness to meet 2-3 days a week in evening hours.
  • Experience with internet-based applications and platforms.
  • Experience with agile development processes.
  • Comfortable communicating and presenting to global teams and leadership.
  • Experience collaborating with design & research methodologies and using insights to make data-driven decisions.
  • Up to four trips to San Mateo headquarters (if fully remote), and up to four international trips per year.
  • Cybersecurity and compliance experience; expertise with databases, networks, hardware, firewalls, and encryption a plus, but not required.
