This position is responsible for developing appropriate market and sales strategies for Industrial National Account growth. In conjunction with corporate business development, this position will coordinate the generation of leads, monitor and ensure follow-up. This person will manage customer relationships, expectations, and requirements with all existing National Account customers to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.

This position is responsible for developing appropriate market and sales strategies for Industrial National Account growth. In conjunction with corporate business development, this position will coordinate the generation of leads, monitor and ensure follow-up. This person will manage customer relationships, expectations, and requirements with all existing National Account customers to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for National Accounts budget compliance.
- Will develop department budgets and forecasts, monitor performance thereof and provide monthly/quarterly performance reports to the US President.
- To ensure gross margin is met, this position will be directly responsible for managing and approving national account pricing and approving national account contracts.
- Manage customer-specific and on-site inventory levels
- Recommend capital expenditures
- Ensure appropriate return on assets for National Accounts
- Ensure that pricing and service guidelines and levels are communicated
- Ensure organizational compliance with contracts
- Support billing and collections as required
- Manage customer service issues to key customers
- Ensure appropriate technical skills to serve customers
- Ensure effective sales relationship training
- Provide technical and sale training to encourage cross selling and value add to customers
- Provide appropriate account incentives
- Creates and maintains a culture of employee participation through team building, group problem-solving, and positive interpersonal management.
- Promotes continuous improvement of the organization’s efficiency and effectiveness.
- Identifies and establishes specific quality and productivity measurements. Manages and leads personnel to achieve the measurement benchmarks.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree from a four year College: or
- 7-10 years of related National Sales experience
- 3-5 years of management experience
- Or equivalent combination of educational and experience that gives the individual the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job.
- Understanding of Corporate Profitability Goals as they relate to the competitive landscape
- Expert knowledge of Vallen geographic, service and product capabilities
- Expert knowledge of database utilization including account profitability analysis tools
- Excellent negotiation, written and oral communication skills
- Proven managerial skills with a documented affinity for professionally managing/completing multiple projects/tasks within limited timeframes.
- Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines while producing quality work products.
- Broad knowledge of Contract Law
- This position requires a combination of Industry/Organizational Knowledge, Strategic Sales Skills, Product Level Competence, Financial Acumen and excellent written and verbal skills.
