I am excited to be partnered with a top client of mine on their search for a sharp VP, Scientific Director to join their ever-growing team! This agency are part of a global Medical Communications network, yet very much function as an independently-owned team, with a specialism in Medical Affairs, Publications and Commercial. The team boasts a client roster of blue-chip pharma's + emerging biotech's and are proud to offer their client a full-service agency capability whist executing an unparalleled, boutique agency service.
As VP, Scientific Director, you will be the lead and oversight of your designated accounts. Demonstrated experience acting as a scientific-lead on a Medical Affairs/ Commercial account, and high science therapeutic experience is a prerequisite for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate expertise in scientific leadership and managing large medical affairs or commercial accounts, ideally in oncology.
- Excel in solving commercial challenges with a creative and visual approach.
- Provide confident client advisement and cultivate trusted partnerships based on extensive experience.
- Align strategy across a high-volume account, directing the team towards successful outcomes.
- Oversee content development with continuous editorial and strategic guidance.
- Uphold high standards in people management, coaching, and mentoring to ensure team success.
- Contribute actively to the scientific leadership team, fostering collaboration, leading cross-agency initiatives, and enhancing agency culture and operations.
Required Qualifications:
- Hold an advanced doctoral-level degree (PhD, MD, PharmD, etc.).
- Possess over 9 years of experience in the medical communications industry.
- Demonstrate expertise in oncology, particularly hematologic malignancies.
- Exhibit exceptional scientific writing skills supporting medical or commercial deliverables.
- Have a proven track record in managing people and team operations.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical industry standards and compliance.
