SUMMARY: Repairs, calibrates, and maintains medical equipment and instrumentation used in health care delivery field by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Responsible for the repair and maintenance of all types of home medical equipment
  • Perform in home service calls as needed
  • Performs routine and preventative equipment maintenance for all Hart locations
  • Communicate and coordinate with the Repair/Replace customer service team
  • Troubleshoot to ensure the product is in a working state
  • Maintains current records for all repairs and maintenance performed according to company policies
  • Maintains adequate inventory levels for repair parts and supplies
  • Responsible to disinfect, clean, and inspect all equipment for safety. Appropriately document the actions taken with each piece of equipment.
  • Assists in training of new employees on the proper and safe repair and maintenance of all types of home medical equipment
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling equipment. (ex. gloves, protective eye wear and gowns when appropriate to comply with universal precautions.)
  • Maintains a neat and orderly work area in accordance with policy and procedures
  • Performs designated Equipment Cleaning Technician duties as required by work load and management
  • Other duties as requested by management

Qualifications

Education And/or Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 2 years of related experience preferred

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to remain professional in stressful situations
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Able to get and maintain a valid Chauffer’s license with upgrade to a CDL
  • Working knowledge and comfort with smart phones

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Valid Chauffer’s License - must be able to drive in all weather conditions
  • Maintain a valid DOT Physical exam
  • Annual MVR
  • Annual TB Test

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Regularly required to walk, talk and hear.
  • Required to sit for periods of time in vehicle.
  • Regularly stand and lift objects from 1” to 36” high with weights ranging from 10 lbs. – 100 lbs., occasionally up to 170 lbs. Objects will be carried from 1 to 350 ft. This includes possible travel up and down stairs, ramps or elevators
  • Frequently required to push or pull objects weighing from 20 lbs. – 100 lbs. through various surfaces using dollies or carts.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job includeclose vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Must be able to pass the Department of Transportation physical
  • All employees are required to work in a safe manner
  • Wear PPE as required
