ABOUT THE WELLNESS COUNSELING CENTER



Recognizing wellness comes from a multiplicity of forms and modalities, the Wellness Counseling Center at California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) strives to cultivate the interconnected relationships of student's physical bodies, minds, and spirits to enhance personal, professional, and community health. We offer 10 sessions (per academic year) to students across the diverse degree-granting programs at CIIS using relational-psychodynamic therapy informed by a social justice-liberatory lens.



SUMMARY



This position is housed in the Division of Student Affairs to support CIIS students that are enrolled in on-campus and virtual degree programs. The position is also involved with the CIIS Clinical Psychology, Psy.D. program as a member of the California Psychology Internship Council (CAPIC) Wellness Counseling Predoctoral Internship Track.



Please note that this is a 0.75-1.0 FTE (30-40 hours per week) position.





ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



Student Affairs Responsibilities



  • Oversee CIIS Wellness Counseling Center day-to-day operations
  • Participate in Weekly/Bi-weekly meeting with Student Affairs Lead Staff
  • Consult with Administration on CARE team to ensure appropriate student treatment
  • Support needs of on-campus students facing urgent challenges (including during weekend intensives during the fall and spring terms)
  • Liaison with Academic Program Chairs/Managers as needed
  • Report to the Dean of Students


Psy.D./CAPIC Responsibilities



  • Oversee CAPIC predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship training program
  • Supervise clinic manager
  • Create and implement curriculum and schedule for orientation, didactic seminars, and case conferences
  • Provide individual and group supervision to predoctoral interns and postdoctoral fellows
  • Ensure interns' and fellows' charts are in compliance
  • Liaison with the PsyD program administrators as well as the Dean of Students
  • Meet with Clinical Training Committee of PsyD Program on a monthly basis
  • Report to the Chair of the PsyD department




Job Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS



  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. Clinical Psychology required. California Licensed Psychologist with BOP licensure required.
  • Prior university wellness center and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of current ethical, legal, clinical, and training issues relevant to higher education mental health.
  • Demonstrated skills in the application of student development theories.
  • Proven capability of providing the highest standard of strength-based treatment to a multicultural community.
  • Experience in program development and evaluation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in effective outreach programming development and outcomes assessment.
  • Proficiency in public speaking and leading group discussions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well within a multicultural, diverse community, including expertise counseling clients from multi-cultural populations (a spectrum of race, gender, ability, class, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, and age).
  • Ability to establish professional relationships, interact effectively with diverse constituencies and a willingness to collaborate and maintain confidentiality when required.
  • Ability to work well both individually and as a part of a team in a collegial, respectful, and professional manner.




ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS



Occasional work performed alone with ability to work remotely from time-to-time. Collaboration and constant work around and with other people.





LOCATION



The Director has the option of working a flexible hybrid schedule, with the requirement of three days per week to be on-site work and some Saturdays (during the fall and spring terms) -- typically, three days a week on-campus and two days remote plus weekend coverage on-campus once a month (at a minimum).

WAGES AND BENEFITS



Salary and Benefits: $92,000 to $110,000 (FTE) commensurate with education, skills, and experience. Please note that this is a 0.75-1.0 FTE (30-40 hours per week) position.

NOTES TO CANDIDATE



  • Working Conditions - Duties are primarily performed in an office environment at a desk or computer terminal, typically, three days a week on-campus and two days remote plus weekend coverage on-campus once a month (at a minimum).
  • Background Check - Due to the sensitivity and requirements of this position, you should expect to undergo and be cleared of an employment background/criminal check, if extended an offer for employment. You may also be asked to provide proof of educational degree(s), licenses, or credentials pertinent to the position. If your job requires driving on behalf of CIIS you will be required to provide proof of a valid driver's license.
