Windows Server Administrator

THE OPPORTUNITY

Dillard's is seeking a Windows Server Administrator to join our team in Little Rock, Arkansas. This position presents an exciting opportunity to help plan, design, build, and test solutions and their capabilities for one of the nation's largest retail companies. THE TEAM

The Windows Server Administrators are a diverse, close-knit team responsible for the administration and management of servers and domains for our company. They handle both physical and virtual environments. They work closely with other IT teams to ensure the quality and delivery of assigned task(s) and project(s) for optimal server and domain functionality. They use management solutions to automate and improve company processes.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Configure, deploy, manage, secure, and support complex Windows Server enterprise environments.
• Continually seek ways to automate redundant functions to improve the quality and efficiency of tasks.
• Collaborate with various teams within our IT organization to create and maintain the architecture and high-level design documentation.
• Participate in the design and planning of complex Windows Server environments.
• Stay current with technical developments in this area of expertise
• Lead or assist in completing major projects, including well-written documentation & communication.
• Participate in on-call rotation independently using gained knowledge and provided documentation.
• Exercise time & resources for training and internal demonstrations to gain a sound understanding of supported critical infrastructure
  
  

THE SKILLSET

• At least five years of experience in Windows Server Administration
• Active Directory Administration, DNS, Group Policy
• Understanding of backup and recovery solutions
• Racking and stacking hardware
• Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve system issue(s)
• Windows Server (all operating systems)
• General understanding of hardware OEMs
• Ability and desire to learn emerging technologies
• NTFS/Share Access Control/Permissions
• Proficient with Powershell or other command-line interfaces
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies
• Understanding of Privileged Access Management Solution (PAM)
• Experience with ServiceNow or change control tracking
• Knowledge of networking

WITHIN 1 MONTH, YOU'LL

• Have security and domain access set up.
• Develop a general understanding of the systems & application layers supported by the Windows Server Administration team.
• Be able to grasp the concept of our monthly patching cycle.
• Become proficient in Privileged Access Management (PAM).
• Become proficient in ServiceNow.
  
  

WITHIN 2 MONTHS, YOU'LL

• Begin taking ownership of daily tasks and procedures.
• Be able to understand and process change controls independently.
• Be able to commission/decommission servers.
• Restore files and folders.
• Assist in on-call rotations with a mentor.
• Be able to confidently monitor backup jobs.
  
  

WITHIN 3 MONTHS, YOU'LL

• Fully participate in on-call rotation.
• Assist or lead small projects.
• Build and add to team documentation effectively.
