DocMe360 is seeking a talented WordPress Designer/UX Specialist to join our WordPress team for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). In this role, you will focus on creating visually appealing and user-friendly WordPress websites that follow the VA Design System and meet 508 compliance requirements. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to understand project requirements, design website layouts, and implement user-centric design principles. This position requires extensive experience in WordPress development as well as strong leadership skills. This role may be filled using a 1099, contract-to-hire, or W2 candidate. All applicants must be United States Citizens residing in the United States of America.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop responsive WordPress websites from concept to completion
  • Ensure all sites follow the VA Design System and meet 508 compliance requirements
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and mockups to visualize design concepts
  • Collaborate with developers to implement designs effectively and ensure optimal functionality
  • Optimize websites for speed, SEO, and overall performance
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in UX design and WordPress development
  • Provide support and maintenance for existing sites, ensuring they remain current and functional

Requirements

  • Proven experience in designing and developing WordPress websites
  • Strong understanding of UX design principles and best practices
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe XD, Figma, or Sketch
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience in responsive and mobile design
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and website analytics tools
