WaFd Bank is looking for a Writer/Editor to join our team! This position will execute deliverables with minimal supervision, create and review content materials, collaborate with stakeholders, and stay compliant with banking regulations.

  • Review existing content and interview individuals to identify and write accurate policies, procedures, and related resources.
  • Follow style standards and tone-of-voice guidelines.
  • Submit drafts to editor, subject matter expert, or approver.
  • Apply feedback, make corrections, and negotiate changes until the draft is complete.
  • Use Wiki Markup and basic HTML to format content.
  • Prepare or create graphics using Microsoft Word, Paint, and Photoshop.
  • Create fillable forms using Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Use Visio and Excel to prepare graphs and charts.
  • Complete tasks as assigned by Editor.
  • Perform tasks that affect the bank's compliance with existing, revised, and new state/federal compliance regulations including, but not limited to Office of Foreign Asset Control, Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, Know Your Customer, Anti-Money Laundering, as well as Internal Revenue Service interest, tax, and IRA reporting,
  • Actively participate in the further development of skills and knowledge through various channels that the bank may provide, including self-study assignments, computer-based training, one-on-one instruction, group instruction, etc. Proactively and regularly increase working knowledge of current state and federal banking regulations, Uniform Commercial Codes, bank policies, and procedures.
  • Closely adhere to the Bank's Information Security policies and procedures, ensuring that the handling, processing, and storage of all client and confidential or proprietary bank information are done in a secure manner and environment.
  • Assist with special projects related to functions within the Deposit Operations Department.
  • As needed, provide support in all areas of the Corporate Deposit Operations Department and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Position requires a High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Technical Writing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Candidate should be able to focus on writing related tasks for 90% of the work week.
  • The ideal candidate views constructive feedback as an opportunity for improvement.
  • Must have a desire and ability to self-train when training is not available.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, effective analytical skills, and organizational skills.
  • PC proficiency in Microsoft Office and an ability to learn additional systems with minimal instruction. Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Pro, Wiki markup, and HTML is a plus.
  • Candidate should be able to accept instruction, prioritize, follow-through on work assignments with minimal supervision, and be able to work in a team environment.
  • Working knowledge of or the ability to learn applicable state and federal laws, regulations, policies, and procedures related to this position.
